Completely written by the Jamaican singer himself – backed here by Roots Radics (the Channel One studio session group) – and arranged by Clarke and Stafford Douglas (alias Mafia Tone). ”Can’t Get Enough” witnesses the peak of his career with his first British production. The beginning of a period that would bring Clarke to London and see him churn out a string of hits with Douglas’s production, before returning to work with Bunny Lee and Mad Professor, King Tubby, Errol Thompson, Prince Jammy. The city of Bristol has undoubtedly a rich reggae heritage. The criminally neglected Talisman finally benefits of a long overdue release, collecting their first efforts plus a series of extra tracks. You’ll get their first two singles released on Recreational Records – Run Come Girl/Wicked Dem and Dole Age/Free Speech, both released in 1981 – plus a selection of five long lost contribution. Originally formed in 1977 as Revelation Rockers, a name they soon changed, Talisman were considered the top reggae act in town alongside local contemporaries Black Roots. The band – popular for their intense live shows – opened for such glorious and diverse acts as Burning Spear, The Clash and The Rolling Stones! This proper release on vinyl allows a new generation of fans to catch with their original style. Talisman certainly shows a different side of the UK reggae flourishing scene – think about Aswad, Steel Pulse and Misty In Roots – putting Bristol back on the map!

Essential reissue for this rare album of dub instrumental reggae tunes recorded by Tommy McCook (on sax, The Skatalites) and Bobby Ellis (trumpet, The Upsetters, The Aggrovators) in 1977. Originally licensed  on Grove Music this amazing set features the likes of Sly and Robbie, Ansel Collins (organ), Clinton Fearon- from The Gladiators - on lead guitar and Bernard Harvey – of The Wailers fame - on piano. Recorded at Channel One and mixed at King Tubby Studio, the album was  engineered by Yabby You and Barnabas.

Originally conceived as a promotional pre-release dub version of Man From Wareika, this album is enhanced with an array of rare and previously unreleased bonus tracks from the Island vaults, ensuring that this is by some way a finest collection of the trombone maestro’s timeless work. Available for the very first time on vinyl this is a must have for any dub fanatic.
